Tip Tuesday: Virtual Bachelorette Parties

If you told me back when I got engaged that my Bachelorette Party would be held over Zoom, with my friends spread across the county, I would have told you that you were crazy!! Flash forward 7 months and it turn out, this is our reality. I'll be honest, at first I was completely turned off to the idea of having a virtual event of any kind, especially a Bachelorette Party. When everything started to hit the fan I had to cancel my actual Bachelorette Party, started working from home, and completely changed my tune. I was sad about the loss of celebrations with my friends and was missing them more than ever. We decided to do a virtual 5k, that turned into a surprise celebration. I felt so full of love and grateful to have been able to see my girlfriends even over a computer screen. If you missed my post about my Virtual Bachelorette 5K, you can check it out here. We're all lonely and missing our people, so why not make the most of it and have a little fun?
Here are a few of my top tops for having an awesome Virtual Bachelorette Party.
Set a theme: Who doesn't love a good theme party? Jazz up your virtual event by selecting a theme. If you had to postpone your original celebration, you could honor your original bachelorette theme or think of something completely new! (Theme suggestions: Nautical, jungle, pajama party, decades, princess, dress like the bride, Prom, Vegas, pool party or even a nod to your favorite binge-worthy show, like "Tiger King: Bride Exotic!")
Coordinate: Stay connected, at a distance by coordinating your event! Select the same snacks, drinks, decor and attire to feel connected to each other.
Dress the part: We've likely all been spending a lot of time at home, and if we're being honest have probably spent a lot of time in our cozies. Go all in and really lean into the theme and be as extra as you want!
Get creative: Don't feel like just sitting in front of a Zoom by yourself? Think outside the box! Try out a creative, new idea like a Bachelorette 5K, home Yoga/workout, virtual wine tasting, movie night, or setting up a drive & see parade with your local girlfriends for everyone to drive by and deliver you a drink (after disinfecting the bottle of course).
Project your screen: Kick your virtual event up a notch by projecting your computer screen onto a larger monitor or TV. Not only will this help you see your friends a little more clearly, but it also enhances their presence so you can feel even more connected.
Games: If you're down to just chat with your girls all night, that's great! But if you want to spice it up a little, try a few games or activities like a virtual blind wine tasting, Newlywed Game, Two Truths and a Lie, beer pong/other drinking games, or even something like Bride BINGO or Jeopardy!
