Tip Tuesday: Try something new!

Updated: Mar 20

It's New Years Eve. A time for reflecting on the last year, and setting resolutions for the year ahead. This year, make a resolution to yourself to step outside your comfort zone and try something new... with your closet. Read on for a few tips on mixing up your current style and making a bold statement. [Warning: excessive New Years puns ahead!]

  • Pop the champagne, and a little bit of color: Brides usually opt for all white or neutral, understated ensembles. Add a pop of color with your accessories, shoes, or outerwear to give your outfit a little something extra.

  • Add some sparkle: You've probably noticed by now that we're totally on board with the sequin trend. If you typically prefer to blend in, add a little sparkle to make yourself shine brighter than the Times Square ball drop!

  • The club is jumpin': Typically one for dresses and skirts? Try out a jumpsuit for a more adventurous look.

  • Rock out with your cut-outs: Add a little edge to your bridal look. Cut-outs are a great way to add a unique touch to any outfit. Keep it simple with a large stitched pattern, or more daring with a cutout neckline.

  • EsCAPE the ordinary: Skip the traditional trench coat and try out a new outerwear trend, like a cape! If it's cold, opt for one in velvet or a thicker fabric that's both functional and fashionable.

  • Shake your 'bootie': While you're shaking your groove thing this New Years Eve, make sure you have the perfect pair of shoes. Try something new, like booties instead of classic heels, or embellished options to keep the party rocking all night long.

  • Get fancy with your fabric: Mix up your traditional look by adding in new fabrics like fur or tweed. Adding a little texture will help you stand out in the crowd.

  • Bling Bling: Use your accessories to accentuate your outfit. Try large statement earrings or bedazzled headband to add a little flair.

  • Blaze a new trail: If you tend to lean towards more feminine looks, try adding a blazer to your outfit. Pair with a skirt or shorts with tights to keep it girly.

  • Go wild!: Animal print is very on trend right now. Take a walk on the wild side and wear snakeskin, leopard, or even zebra to your next bridal soiree.
