My First Styled Photoshoot

If you saw my stories last week, you got a sneak peek into my first styled photoshoot! My goal for the shoot was to recreate the morning of a wedding, getting ready with your bridesmaids, and putting the final touches on a wedding day look. Over the months leading up to the shoot it was so fun to select vendors, style different looks, do a little DIY, and curate a vision for the day. I was able to get into the suite a little early so I could have everything set up before my photographer and friends arrived. Even though it was a fake wedding I wanted the day to feel authentic, fun, and not overly staged. Everything came together beautifully and it truly felt like my wedding day!

I have a few posts coming soon geared towards getting ready with your girlfriends and finding the perfect bridal suite will that incorporate scenes from the shoot. In the meantime I wanted to share a sneak peek of a few photos and say thank you to everyone who made the shoot possible.

Thank you to everyone who made this shoot possible:

  • Emily Boone Photography: First and foremost, thank you to the most incredible photographer! Emily is the ultimate hype-woman and I can't imagine this shoot without her. Over the last year she's become more than our wedding photographer, she's also grown into a friend. She's walked with us from our engagement photos last November, through two postponed weddings, an almost rained-out redeem the day photoshoot in the middle of a flash flood, and is anxiously awaiting our big celebration right along with us. Like her, her photography captures the joy in every moment. She's helped us create the most priceless memories of our wedding journey and if you're in the Austin area, you need to give her a call. You won't regret it.

  • Lucky Maiden: Looking for personalized gifts for your bachelorette party or bridesmaids? You have to check out Lucky Maiden! They are one of my favorite wedding gift retailers and have a great variety of clothes and other items for you and your bride tribe. The owner, Nina, is so kind and responsive to any and all questions. They graciously sent us a few items for us to incorporate into the shoot. Check them out if you're looking for bridesmaid or bridal party gifts, they will likely have exactly what you're looking for!

  • Birdy Grey: A few of my bridesmaids are wearing Birdy Grey for our big wedding celebration in 2021 and they have been wonderful to work with. When I reached out about being part of this shoot they were so supportive and helpful. The dresses we used for the shoot were the Grace and Jane gowns in sage. The color was stunning and the bridesmaids looked gorgeous!

  • Melange Bridal: My experience working with Melange bridal was incredible. From the moment I reached out they were excited to be a part of the shoot and were so accommodating. When I stopped by to pick up a dress for the shoot they were so friendly and welcoming. They showed me around and gave me the opportunity to select any dress from their beautiful show room. I only had to try on a few before I found the one, and they helped me each step of the way with sizing and styling. The Milla Nova dress I selected was gorgeous and absolutely perfect for the shoot; I felt like a real life princess. If you're in the Austin area and looking for a wedding gown, give them a call to set up an appointment!

  • In Bloom by Jonquil: In Bloom is a Los Angeles designed sleepwear & lingerie brand. As one of my shower gifts, a girlfriend sent me a white bride robe, which I wore on my actual elopement wedding day and incorporated into the shoot. In Bloom was also kind enough to send over a gorgeous sleepwear set with a beautiful floral pattern. If you're looking for sleep ware for your bridal party, yourself, or even the wedding night, check them out at Nordstrom, Dillard's, Bloomingdale's.

  • Stephen F. Austin Royal Sonesta: The Stephen F. Austin Royal Sonesta (formerly the Intercontinental) is absolutely incredible and perfect for brides looking for a romantic, girly bridal suite vibe. After looking into basically every hotel in Austin to find a location for the shoot, I knew without a doubt that it had to be here. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, with a light cream-based color scheme, but it's functional as well. The suite features a large seating area, bedroom area separated by large sliding doors, two bathrooms, multiple mirrored counter spaces, ample space to set up a mini-bar or gift area, thoughtfully placed hooks to display your gown, large closet, more than enough electrical outlets, and a stunning master bathroom, complete with a grand bathtub. The staff could not have been more accommodating and sent us up champagne, sandwiches, snacks, and a dessert plate to make our stay complete. Additionally, they took COVID precautions seriously, and I felt very safe throughout my stay.

  • Towne Park: Thank you so much for supporting our shoot and covering my parking for the day!

  • Model Team: An extra special thank you to two of my best girlfriends and bridesmaids Hillary and Laura for modeling for the shoot! I'm so lucky to have you standing by my side in my fake wedding, real wedding, and all the craziness in between. Love you!

Stay tuned for a lot of fun things coming to the blog in 2021!
